The Villa Padierna Palace Hotel in Marbella is not just any hotel. It is possibly the most exclusive location in the entire country to hold your wedding. An elegant and sophisticated destination hotel which has a very conspicuous style of decoration that calls to mind the architecure of ancient rome. columns, sculptures and fountains decorate the corners of this majestic hotel located on the Costa del Sol.

It has huge, light-filled rooms decorated in a minimalist style, such as the Obama and Denise Sassou-Nguesso villas where Sandra and Marco were prepared for the wedding. Working in an environment such as this requires you to be at your best. Five members of the team in total, worked at this wedding: two photographers and three videographers. The deployment of such numbers was in keeping with the event. Cranes, Sliders, Steadycam and various sets of lenses were all used.

There was a lot of care and dedication put into the organization of this wedding. Sandra and Marco really put in a lot of effort to make sure that it was a fantastic night. Just to show you an example of this, I will tell you about the Soul duet that the couple flew to their wedding after finding them on one of their trips to the Seychelles Islands. The fantastic fireworks display was another wonderful surprise on the night. The discrete but elegant decoration showcased the delights of this beautiful location: exquisite floral arrangements, garlands of lights and candles embellished the surroundings.

Tuxedos and suits with bow ties for the gentlemen and elegant dresses for the ladies created a sophisticated atmosphere. Marco wore a brand-new white tie creation and Sandra a stunning wedding dress from Pronovias. Fans of Sex in the City will recognize Sandra’s shoes. Remember when Mr. Big asked Carrie for her hand in marriage? Yes, they are the Hangisi shoes from Manolo Blahnik, also known as the Manolos. The wedding rings, a classic and refined design were chosen by the couple from Tiffany and Co. for this very important moment. Marco wore a sophisticated and timeless watch by Rolex, specifically the Oyster Perpetual Datejust model, introduced to the world for the first time in 1945. It is one of the most recognisable watches in the world.

It was a religious ceremony officiated by a priest who is a family friend and lasted approximately an hour and a half. Various speeches and readings by close family, such as parents and brothers and sisters, a quartet and the surprise interruption of the couple’s pets helped to create an unforgettable atmosphere. There were intensely emotional moments during the speeches of Marco’s friends where more than one guest shed a tear.

We held a quick photo session in the luxurious hotel facilities before returning, as soon as possible, to the cocktail party which was taking place in the east wing. The sophisticated cocktail party, where it was possible to try tempting delicacies such as oysters, ended in a wonderful fireworks display which gave way to a special soirée on the terrace with views of the golf course. The garlands of lights and the chandeliers bounced light into all the corners of the space, creating a wonderfully cosy atmosphere during dinner. The fantastic Soul duo put the finishing touches to the music selection, accompanying Sandra and Marco during their first dance. It was, without a doubt, the wedding of the year in this part of the continent.
