POST-WEDDING PHOTO SHOOT IN PARIS
You, me… Paris…
What can one say about Paris? Those of you who have been there before know it’s an amazing place. A city that if you visit it once; you will always end up returning to. Although it is stereotypical, it really is a romantic city, full of charming spaces and captivating corners.
This time I had the opportunity to do the casual post-wedding photo shoot for a couple that I had photographed a couple of weeks before that in Cadiz. We didn’t have a lot of time, which is why the session was totally improvised and at the mercy of the weather. Around this time of year, the climate is quite unsettled in Paris, although the sun always comes out at some stage during the day. Besides, who wouldn’t like to photograph Paris in the rain? The city is transformed; wherever you look there are postcard-perfect scenes to photograph. The wet streets of Paris are like poetry in motion, and the effect is amplified at night. It is called “The City of Light” for a reason, a name that refers to its central position in the world of the Arts and education but also refers to its early use of urban illumination.
For me personally, Paris is a source of inspiration, photographically speaking. The possibilities for doing a photo shoot in the city are endless. What inspired my imagination with Raquel and Jose were some films that were linked to the French capital e.g. The Dreamers, Amelie, Midnight in Paris, The 400 Blows, Before Sunset and many more that I can’t remember. I liked the improvised feeling to the shoot, the fleeting feeling. I liked experimenting with the snapshots at night, very complicated when taking the photo and just as complicated when processing it but the result was magic, very artistic and evocative. Above all, I liked working with such cool people who were so excited to be doing this. SEE YOU SOON PARIS…..
